The Human Rights Council, recalling resolutions 59/113 B of 14 July 2005 of the General Assembly, 2005/61 of 20 April 2005 of the Commission on Human Rights and 2006/19 of 24 August 2006 of the Sub-Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights, decides to encourage all States to develop initiatives within the World Programme for Human Rights Education and in particular to implement, within their capabilities, the Plan of Action (A/59/525/Rev.1) of the World Programme as adopted by the General Assembly, and to request the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization to promote and technically assist national implementation of the Plan of Action.
