The Human Rights Council,
Guided by the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations,
Reaffirming all previous decisions and resolutions on the enhancement of
international cooperation in the field of human rights adopted by the Commission on
Human Rights, the Human Rights Council and the General Assembly,
Recognizing that the enhancement of international cooperation in the field of human
rights is essential for the full achievement of the purposes of the United Nations, including
the effective promotion and protection of all human rights,
Recalling that, in Human Rights Council resolution 19/33 of 23 March 2012, the
Council requested the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights
to organize, before the twenty-second session of the Council, a seminar on the enhancement
of international cooperation in the field of human rights and to prepare a report on the
deliberations held during the seminar and to submit it to the Council at its twenty-second
session,
Acknowledging the holding of the seminar on the enhancement of international
cooperation in the field of human rights on 15 February 2013, with the participation of
States, relevant United Nations agencies, funds and programmes, and other stakeholders,
including academic experts and civil society,
Taking note of the note by the Secretary-General1 indicating that the above-
mentioned report will be submitted to the Human Rights Council at its twenty-third session,

Decides to examine this question at its twenty-third session under the same agenda
item.
