Paragraph 19 should read
19. Encourages the private sector to work to ensure the alignment of their
activities with international human rights law and relevant standards, including those
related to the rights of the child, the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights –
and to that end, underlines the imperative need for the elaboration of a legally binding
instrument, consistent with Human Rights Council resolution 26/9 of 26 June 2014, on the
activities of transnational corporations and other business enterprises, holding these entities
accountable in international human rights and humanitarian law for abuses and violations of
human rights – and the Children’s Rights and Business Principles of the United Nations
Children’s Fund (UNICEF), through the undertaking of child-rights due diligence with a
view to identifying, preventing and mitigating the possible negative impact of their
operations on the enjoyment of the rights of the child;”
