REPORT OF THE SECRETARY-GENERAL ON MISSING PERSONS
Note by the Secretariat
1. The Human Rights Council (“the Council”), in its decision 2/102, requested the
Secretary-General and the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to “continue
with the fulfillment of their activities, in accordance with all previous decisions adopted by the
Commission on Human Rights and to update the relevant reports and studies”.
2. The Secretariat submitted a note to the Council at its fourth session1 informing it that the
Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights will submit a biannual report on the present
issue at the March-April 2008 session of the Council, unless otherwise decided by the Council.

3. The above-mentioned report will be submitted to the Council at its ninth session, in
September 2008, in order to include recent relevant developments.
